Car Insurance – Never Underestimate Its Importance

My name is James Frank. I’m glad you stopped by my website. I’ve always carried automobile insurance because it’s the law. I never paid much attention to my coverage; I paid my premiums and like most folks moaned about the small annual increases. One day I was driving in a city I wasn’t familiar with and was looking for addresses on the buildings. All of a sudden I look in front of me and I’m about to hit another vehicle. I had run a red light and ended up totaling not only my car, but the other driver’s car, too. I have never been so grateful for my car insurance. Fortunately, there were no medical bills, but two cars had to be replaced. It turns out that I have excellent coverage. I’ve since learned lots about car insurance and hope to share some of it with you.

A Checklist For Getting SR-22 Auto Insurance

Blog

The name sr-22 insurance is very misleading because it is not really auto insurance. A sr-22 is a certificate that essentially is used to show proof of holding auto insurance. A sr-22 certificate is held so that it shows that you are in compliance with the requirements set out by your state for car insurance. Usually, the requirements by your state for car insurance needs to be met for 3 years. If you continue reading the article, you will find some tips and information about sr-22 insurance and how to get it filed, as well as who is eligible for it.

Who Needs Sr-22 Insurance?

People who have committed vehicular offenses, accidents, and infringements may be required to seek sr-22 with their auto insurance company. Anyone convicted of a driving while intoxicated (DWI or DUI) charge needs to apply for sr-22. People driving without insurance, who have points on their record, or who have been the cause of a serious accident, also need to have a sr-22 insurance application. If your license was ever suspended or revoked, then you need sr-22 to have it reinstated. If ever you are to get sr-22, generally, the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state will inform you. You must meet the required criteria to be considered for sr-22 insurance.

How to Get it Done

The process can be tedious because they are usually associated with violations. Your auto insurance needs to be aware of this. However, be advised that making such a request will mean that your insurance premium will go up as you will be deemed a risk. Some insurance companies do not cover high-risk drivers as part of their business operations. So, you may be required to make several calls or do internet searches to find an insurance company that is willing to give an sr-22 insurance certificate.

The insurance company will have to file the sr-22 insurance on your behalf to the government because they do not accept it from individuals.  The government obviously wants to ensure that the document is authentic. The sr-22 will ensure that you meet the required insurance limits.

In short, figuring out how to get an sr-22 can seem complex at first, as with any government paperwork. But the good thing is that many auto insurance companies are willing to help you out. Just mention that you need an sr-22, and they will help you take care of it.
